Watercolour with peonies

I do my very best trying to catch up this blog...

I have just finished a watercolour that has taken quite a while to execute
I had these beautiful peonies bought in Waitrose!!!
Who can resist them??? I cannot.

At last I have painted some in 2019

Peonies galore

Executed on Arches paper with Rembrandt watercolour

Coloured pencils Portraits

It has been a long time I have posted on this blog!

I suppose being so busy running about and creating took a lot of my time.
So updating now with 3 portraits done with coloured pencils.

The first one is the portrait of Eliza. I used Sanded Paper (not the one used for DIY) but artist one that can be found with Jacksons online.
I have used artist quality coloured pencils

My second coloured pencils painting was executed with artists quality pencils
but this time on Mount Board.

My third portrait was executed once more on Sanded paper.
I did cover the background with pencils but could not carry on the same colour around the paper.
I am still in the experimental stage and so, I decided to use a Pastel pencil that I never ever use as I react to the dust of Pastel.
I covered my face and went for it...

Old Annecy - France

Phew, celebrations of end of year are over!
I have lost quite a lot of time, searching for presents, getting organised etc...

At last I am returning to paint brushes.

I have created my first watercolour of the year 2019

                                                                 Old Annecy - France
                                                           Watercolour on Millford paper

Millford paper is produced by St Cuberths Mill

It is their latest paper.
It has a much lovely texture, very smooth, white.
Like every new paper I am testing, I had to adapt to it though.

I have found that wet in wet was slightly different with results than other paper.
The paint that did not have enough water ended up with hard sharp lines.
So I had to watch it!

Otherwise, a very good paper.
