Acrylic on board 2015

I am very happy, I have at last created a canvas.
It has been a long time since I had done a serious still life.

I have a multitude of references with the roses I grow in my garden.
It is a matter to think properly about a setting.
I did not use photos of a setting.
I just added as it came in my mind.

The dish was next to me while painting it. I have added redcurrants. I have painted so many of them. I do not need to have some near me.

I thought the dark background on the right of the picture was needing to come down on the cloth and so I have added black cherries.

Well the lot is real Ephemeral. I cannot imagine those fruits lasting very long. They are a temptation!
As for the roses, without a vase and water.... gone in a flash!
