I created this painting about 15 years ago.
I was in the middle of the countryside and really thought that life could not get any better.
Just the sight of some greenery, a cottage or two, the Spring, all these makes me happy and so I painted what I saw and to me it was "Sweet England"....
Until these atrocious scenes seen on TV these last few days.
What is becoming of our lovely country? When I moved here 42 years ago, life was good, people were descent, helpful, kind. I have made many many friends.
I only wish that these youngsters could see a life through the eyes of an artist!

I was a very happy girl, painting and preparing for my exhibition opening on April 11th.... until last Thursday when I suffered a heart attack.

I received an emergency operation and I am now recovering. It is going to take a while and the exhibition is now in the hands of my children. They will organise it.

I was operated by the team of Dr Cooke at the William Harvey hospital in Ashford - Kent.

I cannot thank enough the professionalism of this great team.

Thanks to their fast thinking, their immediate diagnosis and action, I am lucky to be alive today.

I staid a few days in the Cardiology care Unit and there too, I was looked after so wonderfully well by dedicated nurses, doctors.

I have received great care days and nights by several professionals. I am a very lucky girl!

I have experimented with a great number of paper and different surfaces.

I had never tried Rough watercolour paper.

I have painted this picture on Saunders Waterford Rough 140lb -

This lovely corner is in St Margaret's bay, near Dover.
The white cliffs are still running through this landscape.
I love going there through the season.
You might notice the house. It is under the cliff and on the very edge of the sea!!!

Has now received a feature by the group Painters of the Universe :
